From humble beginnings and beyond: The story of Impetus.

The inception of Impetus stems back to 2019, when the then-solo-project of Aidan de Maria was announced privately. The project offered a self-titled debut LP, which was released independently on April 19th, 2019. However, it wouldn’t be until two years later where Impetus would gain local attention.

Throughout 2019 to early 2022, the band would release two follow-up LPs, “The Game of Malevolent Vengeance” in 2020 and “Kontinuum” in 2021 – as well as six singles; “Black Out the Sun”, “Within Glorious Tragedy”, “Rapturous”, “The Fatal Error In I”, “Burial in the Eyes” and “Acedia”.

Each subsequent release would gain the group attention as they went on, eventually landing them an opening slot at The New Dead XI Metalfest in Adelaide. This would serve as the band’s first show.

Joining vocalist and guitarist Aidan de Maria would be Cameron Bailey on lead guitars, Nina Swallow on bass, and Dylan di Palo on drums.
